Usage

Here’s how to get started with (and get the most out of!) your PrimeTracking devices.

Head over to www.track.myprimetracking.com. Once you’re logged in, click on “Notifications”, and then hit the wrench icon to update your SOS notification setting.

No; each device requires its own subscription. You can, however, have one PrimeTracking account that manages multiple devices.

We’ve included a helpful Getting Started pamphlet inside the box that will direct you to www.primetracking.com/activate, which will walk you through the easy activation steps. Make sure to have your IMEI number ready, which is found on the white sticker on the back of your tracker.

Your SafeTrack will arrive approximately 50% charged, but please charge it fully for 4-6 hours before the first use. When the device is fully charged, the red PWR light will be solid.

Both units use lightning fast 4G LTE that connects to Verizon, AT&T, or T- Mobile towers (whichever signal is stronger) to collect and relay information. If cellular service exists in your area, SafeTrack and CarSmart will work just fine. If the 4G connection is not strong enough, the unit will switch to a satellite backup that continues to track but does not support real-time tracking. Once the unit can reconnect to 4G service, it will upload the stored data to your PrimeTracking account.

You can request an update through the app to see the location of the vehicle, but otherwise, it does not collect data when the vehicle is turned off.

You can program the SOS button in your PrimeTracking account to send a notification to a mobile device and an email address when the button is pushed and held for three seconds.

The accuracy of any tracker is subject to the availability of cell towers and satellites, along with the environment the tracker is in. SafeTrack and CarSmart are powered by superfast 4G cell service with extensive coverage throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada. If for some reason the unit is not able to connect with a cell tower, it will use satellites as a backup.

Yes! The PrimeTracking app is available on iOS and Android; just look for our purple and white logo. Your account can also be managed online at www.track.myprimetracking.com.

Battery life for the SafeTrack is affected by location update frequency. With the standard 60 second update, you can expect the battery to last up to two weeks. Battery for the CarSmart is unlimited! It draws power directly from your vehicle and will never “die” as long as the device is plugged in.
